Weekly Mixtape 04/11/17

Listen Here

1. Ultralife – Oh Wonder: I think I have listened to this song precisely 36 times in the past 24 hours, heavily orchestrated indie pop that SLAPS, typical Oh Wonder but like 6x more hype

2. So Tied Up – Cold War Kids: alt rock bop with usual Cold War Kids piano and dad voice, but this one has Bishop Briggs and she is GREAT

3. Where Is Thunder Road? – Walker Lukens: Fun singer songwriter music by a guy that Abby apparently met??? sounds more like Cold War Kids than Cold War Kids do

4. High Ticket Attractions – The New Pornographers: funky new wave, synth pop bop, 80s synth wave vibes

5. Cave – Future Islands: synths, bass lines, deep male vocals, new wave influenced dancey stuff that is unapologetically 80s

6. Waves – White Violet: similar new wave sound but more modern. hip hop drum and bass production and detuned samples

7. Warm On A Cold Night – HONNE feat. Amine: a rework from an album from last year, it features a surprisingly complex and experimental verse from one of the HOTTEST MCs to drop in the last year

8. Mirage – Alexandra: I’m in love with this woman’s production and Lana del Rey sensibilities. moody, broody, and anti-establishment that sounds a little like a softer Humbug era Arctic Monkeys

9. Sixteen – Diet Cig: poignant and funny punk song about relationships and loss, check out the whole album too!!!1!
